Maryellen James is a Makeup Designer. Her numerous feature film credits include Clint Eastwood's Oscar winning Mystic River and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Edward Zwick's Glory, Lasse Hallstrom's The Ciderhouse Rules, and James Cameron's True Lies.
As Makeup Department Head for executive producer Steven Spielberg's NBC TV science fiction series Seaquest DSV and Philip Noyce's Brotherhood she was given the opportunity to explore every aspect of her craft.
Maryellen's work for opera and stage productions includes many seasons with Sarah Caldwell's Opera Company of Boston and Harvard University's American Repertory Theater.
She is a founding member of Emerson College's Arts Emerson and a past vice president and creator of the Meet the Filmmaker series for the Southwest Florida Film Society.
She holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts from Temple University's Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
